Benefits of Australian Lowline
Where do we begin with these small-but-mighty animals? Being the complete package of perfection, they are economical and placid with a fantastic ratio of acre-to-meat yield.
Temperament
Australian Lowlines are notoriously placid animals, making them ideal for first-time farmers or those wanting their young families involved in the experience. Being smaller in stature makes them less daunting to handle, combined with a docile nature that makes them a joy to work with.
They are also naturally polled, so a lack of horns is another attractive feature for many looking to invest in cattle.
Meat vs. Acreage
Being a smaller breed of cattle, Australian Lowlines require less acreage per animal than larger breeds (for those on smaller farms) or alternatively, a much larger herd on your commercial property.
However, their unique build - with more of their carcass dedicated to their high quality meat - means a better rate of meat per acre of land.
Breeding
With inherently smaller birth weights, Lowline Cattle have a much lower risk of birth complications, whilst at the same time being highly fertile and naturally good mothers. They also mature earlier and breeding animals enjoy greater longevity.
Low-Cost
Aside from their attractive ratio of acreage required to meat produced, there are many inherent financial benefits to investing in a smaller breed of cattle.
Fencing, feeders and other infrastructure is not as easily damaged by these diminutive animals as they often are by larger breeds. They are a much more sustainable breed as again, their size results in a much lesser environmental impact, whilst a smaller animal that requires less feed but still produces a high-quality, highly sought after meat means a great return on investment for both the short- and long-term.
